Little Miss Independence

Today is the 3rd day that Hannah has taken the school bus home! The school that Hannah attends is 10 miles from our house! (keep in mind there is a school practically RIGHT across the street from us, but we won't go into that!). EP Rayzor is a WONDERFUL school but putting 200 miles a week driving back and forth... NOT so wonderful! My friend, Amy, and I were carpooling this year and just decided that the girls were big enough to take the bus home. Hannah has been begging since last year to ride the bus but I just wasn't ready to put a kindergartener on there. So now Amy and I split the drive to school each week and wait at the bus stop each afternoon.

Here she is, getting off the bus!

She takes a special "bus ride diary" with her everyday (just a cute notebook) and writes in it the whole way home. Like the paint job on the bus? I'm going to see if the parents will pool together and we can get a new paint job.. perhaps something with flames? =}

(It's still a bit sunny and warm here, can you tell?)

Before I know it, she'll be driving, right? Heaven help me!

Hi Jennifer. I love your blog. My daughter takes the bus everday and loves it. I am a big supporter of the green movement. Public transportation is awesome. Think of the gas you are saving. Also, my daughter Caroline will be performing a jazz routine at your daughter's school on the 17th.

Way cool! I use to always want to ride the school bus but we always just seemed to live just under the distance required. All well, I'm glad she is loving it!

Make sure if you paint flames that you top it off with some of those mud flaps that have the profile of the naked girl with unnatural proportions! Then, that bus will be stylin'! I
