A Haunting We Will Go...or My Last Halloween Entry This Year!

Tonight we went trick or treating! Our friends, the Memea's came over for dinner then hit the streets with us. It was a fun and sad evening. You see, the Memea's only moved here 8 months ago. He has been our Home Teacher and she has been my garage sale buddy. They are moving tomorrow to Georgia! We're sad but know the move is best for their little family. We will miss them!

Anyway, here they are with the girls before we left the house: baby William, Ioelu, Sharon, Haylee, Krisalyn, Hannah and Kyra.
The kids were itching to get out there! We hit quite a few houses and even needed to borrow some grocery bags at a friends house because the kids treat buckets were so full! The girls RAN from door to door having so much fun!We ended up back at our house with Hannah's friend, Elizabeth. Here's our group of girls! And here are our 2 princesses! See those smiles....they are saying "quit taking pictures so we can paw through our loot!"I'll share what they do each year...after they get home with all of their goodies, they dump it all out on the floor. I give them a sandwich-sized ziploc bag that they can then fill up with candy. (side note...since Hannah just got her teeth sealed, the dentist said she shouldn't have super chewy, gummy, sticky candy... she asked me about every piece and if she could keep it... if I said "no", there wasn't an argument at all, she just went to the next piece... what a good girl!) Whatever candy is left is put back into their buckets and they set them by the front door. This is left for the Good Witch. She comes after they have gone to bed and takes the candy. She leaves them a few surprises in their buckets for when they wake up. She used to leave them a new toothbrush (a really fun character one) and something else but the past two years their dentist appointments fall close to Halloween. This year they each received a Tinkerbell "lock up" journal and some Tinkerbell lipgloss. They came in bright and early to show me what the Good Witch had left them!
Whew! The whirlwind of Halloween is over...and only 55 more days until Christmas! Yikes!
