Some people's children....

During the school year, I teach pre-k at the Baptist Church here in Argyle. On our last day of school this year we had a Water Fun Day. Lots of commotion and excitement going on! Around 1:40pm (20 minutes before school was to be let out) a lady was walking down the halls of the church. I didn't think too much of it because I don't attend that church and often times there are unfamiliar people (to me, but they are members of the church) in the building. She had a blanket/towel over her arm and walking around like she knew where she was going... and boy, did she! She strolled right into the front office and stole the secretary's purse. She then went around looking for more. Fortunately all of us teachers were in our classrooms packing the kids up and getting them ready go to home or our purses would have been gone as well! Our director was out in the back of the building collapsing the water slides and cleaning up so the lady waltzed into her office and took her purse also! Then she strolled out the front door and took off. No one knew anything was missing for about 15-20 minutes. When we all got together and talked, a few of us mentioned a women that we didn't recognize. We called the Argyle police and it took them over 2 hours to get their donut-filled selves down to the church... now mind you, the church building is ONLY 2 buildings down from the police station! UGH! Our hard-earned tax money at work, folks. By this time the bandit had written checks and used both ladies credit cards for large amounts. The ladies (Lori {the secretary} and Jamie {my boss}) have decided to do their own investigating. They have contacted the places where they know the lady has been and gotten survelience photos, etc. They then contacted the Channel 5 with the story and here is what happened:

(you might have to cut and past this link, sorry! I'm still learning all of the blogging techno stuff)

Hopefully they will be able to stop the this thief! It's kind of fun seeing someone you know on TV!

Moral of the story: Don't tick off the church ladies!

Whoops, the deleted comment was me, I'm using Jamie's computer and it left the comment under his name. So here is my comment...

Crazy! I hope that someone recognizes that woman and calls the cops! Did you notice that the "on the scene" reporter was missing an earring? I found that quite distracting.
